Policies & FAQ

Our Current COVID Policies as of February 2023

Masks are optional for clients at Precision Healing , and  our therapists will gladly wear a mask for anyone who requests one.

Our commitment still remains to provide a safe place to receive massage.  We have HEPA filters in each room, and the option to open windows. The management of Precision Healing will be monitoring local Covid case numbers carefully, and may choose at any time to ask clients to wear a mask, if we feel that local cases and risks are high regardless of state mandate status.

COVID Screening

At this time, we will not be sending out daily covid screenings, but the following rules still apply:

If you have any Covid, cold or flu symptoms, please call or text to cancel your appointment.

If you have been directly exposed to anyone with Covid in the last 10 days, please call or text to reschedule your appointments.

  • I agree that I, as well as all household members, have not been diagnosed or knowingly been exposed to anyone who has been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the last 10 days.
  • Symptoms of Covid-19 include: Fever, Fatigue, New or Worsening Cough, Shortness of Breath, Unexplained Skin Rash, and Loss of Smell or Taste. I agree that I or anyone I have had contact with, currently do not have or have experienced any of these symptoms in the past 10 days.
  • If you have strong allergy symptoms that are currently present, you agree to call or text 503-477-2463 to notify our management in advance.

Appointment Arrival

If you choose to arrive more than 5 minutes early you may wait in our indoor lobby (if the door is unlocked), or on our outdoor patio area. We do keep the door locked if all therapists are in session. 5 minutes before your massage your therapist will greet you at the front door.

We commit to continue providing a safe place to receive massage in Portland based on the current science, CDC safety recommendations, and our industry trends.

Late Arrival

Treatment times are not extended for late arrivals.

If you are more than 30 minutes late, your appointment will be considered a no-show and may no longer be available.

A valid credit card will be required to hold your reservation. You may cancel or change your appointment up to 24 hours in advance of your treatment without penalty. For changes or cancellations less than 24 hours in advance, you will be charged a 50% forfeiture fee. If you do not show up for your massage or cancel by phone or text within 2 hours or less, you will be charged 70%.

Cancellation fees will be waived for those who think they may be experiencing COVID like symptoms. Please call or text 503-477-2463 if you need to cancel.

Payment Options

On the day of your service you will be mailed an invoice that can be completed remotely. Payment is due by the end of the date of service. If you do not complete your invoice, or pay at the office, your card on file will be charged plus an additional $1 processing fee.

We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. We do not keep change on site, so cash will need to be for the service amount.

    Frequently Asked Questions

GRATUITY FREE PRACTICE: I have a package that I purchased in 2022, do I need to do anything?

You should treat all packages purchased in 2022 exactly as you would have before the change. If you already included gratuity, great. If you normally would have left a cash tip then it will be okay to do so under this circumstance.

GRATUITY FREE PRACTICE: What if I have a gift certificate purchased in 2022?

You should treat all gift certificates purchased in 2022 exactly as you would have before the change. If you normally would have left a cash tip then it will be okay to do so under this circumstance.

GRATUITY FREE PRACTICE: But I still want to tip my therapist. Can I?

The new pay rate for our team reflects the gratuity -free price structure. With this being said, we are asking clients to no longer tip therapists. Instead, treat them as you would your physical therapist or chiropractor. Leaving a review on Yelp or Google for them in lieu of gratuity would be much appreciated! The only time tipping is optional is if you have any prepaid sessions (purchased prior to 2023) that you normally would have tipped on.

GRATUITY FREE PRACTICE: But why can't I tip you?

We have recently become a gratuity-free practice. Instead we charge a higher flat-rate, and the therapists we are compensated better.

As a team we decided to make this transition because we view ourselves as healthcare providers, and want to match that model. Please think of me as you would your physical therapist, chiropractor, or primary care doctor.

What type(s) of massage do you offer?

While all therapists at Precision Healing have extensive training in many modalities (types of massage), our approach to massage is not modality based. Instead, we focus on integrating all of skills needed to help reduce your pain, decrease your stress, and increase your flexibility (if needed).

With this said, all therapists at Precision Healing are trained in NeuroMuscular Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Myofascial Release, and Swedish Massage. For motor vehicle accidents we provide medical massage.

    Do you offer couples massage?

We can see 2 people at time, but not in the same room. It is easiest to call or text 503-477-2463 if you want to schedule 2 or more appointments at the same time.

    Can I just relax?

Of course! Ideally your massage should feel therapeutic, but should also be relaxing. Our work is typically firm and focused. “No pain no gain” usually isn’t an approach that we support unless it falls into that “hurt so good” massage realm.

Let your therapist know what style / depth of work you like, and they will be happy to do that as long as it is safe and beneficial.

What should I wear to my appointment?

In the average session clients dress down to underwear (no bra). You will be very safely and comfortably draped with a sheet and blanket. However, we are comfortable working with fully clothed clients if that is your comfort level.

If you would like your session to be more interactive (less relaxing but potentially more productive) bring shorts and a sports bra so we can more assessments throughout the session.

How do I make an appointment?

The best and easiest way is to use our online scheduler to book your appointment.

Alternately, you can get in touch by phone at 503-477-2463, or use the form under the contact page.

What does the “assessment process” involve?

Assessment is the way that we collect information to help us “solve the puzzle” that you present to us.

The intake form that you fill out is what stimulates and guides our initial assessment. The assessment process may only include conversation, or may also include the use of standard orthopedic assessments that may help to reveal the source of your condition.
This process usually lasts between 1 and 10 minutes depending on your needs.
